The father's sperm can be frozen and shipped from the U.S., or if he prefers, we can fly the father (or the couple) to a state-of-the-art fertility facility in India where his sperm will be used in the fertilization of an egg. The egg (ovum) will have been donated by a pre-approved, anonymous, American or Indian donor, and conventional IVF methods will be used to combine the sperm and egg.
The father's sperm will be tested for viability before being used to fertilize the donor's eggs. The fertilized egg is later implanted into an Indian surrogate. The Indian surrogate will have pre-natal care and her lifestyle and pregnancy will be monitored to ensure that the welfare of the fetus is safeguarded to the best extent possible. The parents may return home or remain in India for any portion of the pregnancy, and they will be kept apprised of the child's health throughout the pregnancy. The father returns to India a few weeks before the baby's due date. When the child is born, the time to arrange the U.S. passport and return travel to the U.S. is generally less than a month.
The Surrogacy/Egg Donation Guarantee is available to individuals and couples interested in having more certainty, without the stress. Program participants must meet the program's requirements, which will be detailed in an agreement signed between the individual/couple and PFS.
